How it works
Nominations
+ With the exception of the People's Choice Award, builders and businesses nominate themselves by completing an online Nomination form for the Awards Category(s) they wish to enter
+ Businesses may be invited to nominate directly by the Awards organiser
+ The public will also be invited to suggest who they feel should be nominated in each category, via polls and social media posts
Judging
(First round)
+ Nominees will be screened initially for eligibility for the Award Category in which they have nominated
+ The Awards judging panel will meet and evaluate each Nominee individually, ranking them based on merit
Finalists selected
+ A shortlist of 3-5 Finalists per Award Category will be selected, notified by email and announced publicly via social media and the website
Judging
(Second round)
+ Judges will make contact with the past clients whose info has been provided on Nomination forms
+ The Awards judging panel will meet one final time and evaluate each Finalist in detail, before selecting winners in each Award Category
People's Choice Award
+ The public will be invited to nominate their favourite builder via polls on social media.
+ 5 Finalists will be announced publicly and notified by email
+ The public will vote for one of the 5 Finalists via an online voting platform
Award Winners
+ Winners will be announced in person at the Awards Gala in Brisbane on August 26, and shortly thereafter via social media and the website.
+ Press releases will also announce all Award Category winners.
Judging Panel
Briony Jenkinson
Director, ParkMyTinyHouse
Briony is a long-standing identity in the industry. She has lived Tiny for 5 years, admins the largest Tiny House FB Group in Australia, is a regular guest speaker on the expo circuit, and runs a business that helps others transition to Tiny life.
Phae Barrett
Director, Tiny Homes Expo
An experienced event organiser, Phae has run 8 highly successful Tiny Homes Expos across Australia since 2021. Working with hundreds of builders and suppliers within the industry gives her a unique behind-the-scenes insight.
Lucy Lichtenstein
Tiny House Conversations Podcast
Lucy recently made the transition to Tiny House living. Her passion for natural and environmentally-conscious building, coupled with her keen nose for research, has led to Lucy sharing what she's learned via her popular podcast.
